Research interest
 Ore geology, Sedimentology (including sedimentary geochemistry), Ichnology, Environmental science
 Initiated research career as a JRF in the Department of Geological Sciences, Jadavpur University, Calcutta, on “Copper Ore Mineralization in a volcanosedimentary succession of the Chitradurga Greenstone Belt (Archean), southern India”.
 Continued research on different aspects of greenstone belt evolution after the submission of Ph.D. thesis. Adopted post-doctoral research projects on Sulphide Ore Minralization in Aravalli Mountain Belt, Rajasthan, North Singhbhum Fold Belt, Jharkhand and Cuddapah Basin in Andhra Prodesh.
 Took special interest in sedimentological research on Paleozoic Glacial Beds of Talchir Formation and glacio-marine interactive system.
 Presently engaged with two international research projects, one is a INDO-SOUTH AFRIKAN collaborative project on origin of BIF hosted iron ores of India and South Afrika, funded by DST, New Delhi and the other is on Pb-Zn sulphide mineralization of Zawar and other deposits of Rajasthan in collaboration with Center for Ore Deposit Research, Tasmania University, funded by CODES.
